Meet The "Local" Management of ADVANCED HEALTH
ADVANCED HEALTH is a locally owned and operated therapy company. Established in 1993, ADVANCED HEALTH ownership consists of Dr. Michael Martinez, PT, DScPT, OCS, COMT and Tom Legando, PT, Cert MDT, CLT.
ADVANCED HEALTH was a "General Partnership" from 1993 thru 1995 providing outpatient services in Sandusky, Ohio along with services to a local nursing home and home health agency. The general partnership was successful and offered personal & independent practice benefits including the ability to better control quality care, increased autonomy and greater flexibility in decision making. Throughout these first two years, "Managed Care" was progressing and many privately owned therapy companies were forced to sell out to larger corporations. ADVANCED HEALTH continued to market quality care delivered in an efficient manner. Fees were at least 40% less than the competition and only "licensed professional" staff provided services in AH settings. ADVANCED HEALTH’S commitment to compassionate & convenient services, with an emphasis on clinical efficiency & affordability promoted a successful progression during volatile times in the health care industry.
In 1995, ADVANCED HEALTH became a "Limited Liability Corporation". During the same year we secured an Athletic Trainer to promote our Sports Medicine Outreach Program. In 1997, Tom Legando PT, Cert MDT, CLT, joined ADVANCED HEALTH and in 2001, became an equal partner with the corporation. In 2009 ADVANCED HEALTH’s main office relocated to its newly constructed facility located at 2500 W Strub Rd in Sandusky, Ohio offering a 17,000 sq ft Medically based Fitness Center with an indoor track, state of the art equipment and aquatic therapy pool.
Today ADVANCED HEALTH provides Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy and Licensed Athletic Training services to numerous health care facilities, outpatient offices, skilled & home health agencies and high schools throughout North Central Ohio. We are proud to be the only physical therapy company within a 2-hour commute offering certified manipulative therapy. Additionally, we offer fully certified therapists with advanced certifications/training in Orthopedics & Sports, dizziness & vestibular rehabilitation, McKenzie & Maitland Therapy, pediatric sensory integration, lymphedema therapy, industrial rehabilitation and extremity therapy,

MEET THE "LOCAL" MANAGEMENT
David Moore, MS, PT
A resident of Port Clinton, Dave graduated from Ohio State in 1980 with a degree in Physical Therapy. He received a Master of Exercise Physiology degree from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan in 1989. Dave has studied osteopathic manipulation extensively through Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served as a consultant to the Detroit Lions medical/training staff during 1986 and 1987. He is Director of Ottawa County Operations for ADVANCED HEALTH.
Tom Legando, PT, Cert MDT, CLT
Tom lives in Huron and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy, from Ohio State in 1980. His graduate training in Orthopedic Physical Therapy occurred at Krannert Graduate School at the University of Indianapolis. He attained his certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy from McKenzie Institute in 2001 and Lymphedema Therapy certification in 2003. Tom is a Practicing Partner with ADVANCED HEALTH.
Dr. Michael Martinez, PT, DScPT, OCS, CMPT, COMT
Raised in Parma and Brecksville, Ohio, Michael relocated to Sandusky in 1990 after graduation from Cleveland State with a Bachelor of Science and a Physical Therapy degree. Since graduation, Michael has been attending the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, and in March 2002 became the first Certified Orthopedic Manipulative Therapist "COMT" throughout Ohio. Michael completed a Doctor of Science in PT degree at Andrews University in Michigan in 2005 and became Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2007. He is the Managing Partner of ADVANCED HEALTH which he co-founded with Michael Nardi in 1993.
