Occupational Therapists
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS (OT) are professionally educated at the college or university level and are required to be licensed in the state they practice. OT's posses a minimum B.S. degree, have completed clinical practicums and passed the national and state licensure exams.
OT's specialize in helping people develop and maintain the capacity throughout life, to perform tasks and
roles essential to productive living.
OT's are trained to assist people to optimize their:
- Self-Care Activities - feeding, dressing, hygiene, grooming, transferring, and manipulating objects
- Work Activities - school, home and family management, and employment
- Play/Leisure Time Activities - games, hobbies, social activities
- Hand function after injuries/surgeries
