AQUATIC THERAPY - therapeutic exercises offered in a warm water pool for patients who cannot tolerate land-based exercises because of their disease, illness or recent surgery or as an adjunct to land-based exercises. Offered at our Firelands Regional Medical Center South Campus. 

ATHLETIC TRAINING/SPORTS MEDICINE - Advanced Health employs several Board Certified Athletic Trainers on staff servicing local high schools and community recreational programs in Erie and Ottawa counties. Our trainers provide on-the-field coverage for practices and games, consultation to coaches on sports conditioning and medical needs and serve as liaisons between injured athletes, their parents, coaches and physicians. 

BACK/NECK PAIN - Advanced Health has made this area of rehab one of its specialties. Our therapists take great pride in their expertise in evaluation and treatment of spinal disorders. With therapists highly trained in advanced techniques of manual therapy, mobilization, manipulation, myofascial techniques, traction and stabilization we feel confident in treating any form of spinal disorder. 

COACHES FIRST AID CERTIFICATION TRAINING - Advanced Health therapists and trainers are approved by the Ohio Department of Education to present first aid training programs to coaches and other pupil-related activity supervisors required every three years. Our staff has presented numerous programs for schools, throughout North Central Ohio.

FITNESS/ WELLNESS PROGRAMS - Our Athletic Trainers will assist individuals or groups in the development of physical conditioning and nutritional programs to optimize health and wellness. Short- term club memberships at our clinics are available at reasonable costs and include physical assessments and one-on-one education in many aspects of healthy living. 

HAND REHABILITATION - Advanced Health employs "Certified" hand therapists.

HEADACHE/TMJ PAIN - Headaches are often caused by upper neck problems or injuries. A whiplash is a common example. These are very often treatable with manual techniques that Physical Therapists possess. TMJ (temporal mandibular joint) or jaw problems that may include stiffness, grinding teeth, locking or clicking, and pain is another specialty area our therapists have the ability to successfully treat.

HOME HEALTH THERAPY - Advanced Health contracts with several local home care agencies to provide professional therapy services in the home environment for those qualifying patients who are homebound. 

INCONTINENCE THERAPY - for treatment of urge, stress, mixed, overflow and functional incontinence, Advanced Health employs a specially trained therapist available at all sites to evaluate and treat this problem which affects more than 13 million Americans. Electrical stimulation, biofeedback, strengthening exercises and behavioral management techniques are a few of the treatments our therapist is trained in. 

INDUSTRIAL REHABILITATION - Advanced Health has several experienced Physical Therapists with specialized training in Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) for determining a worker's readiness to return to work, Jobsite Analysis and Job Coaching to reduce worker risk for musculoskeletal disorders, Work Conditioning to prepare an injured worker for safe return to work, and Work-Injury Prevention Programs individualized for any industrial or office setting. 

LYMPHEDEMA REHABILITATION - Services ordered by "Certified" Lymphedema therapists.

MCKENZIE MECHANICAL DIAGNOSIS AND THERAPY OF THE SPINE - Advanced Health has therapists certified and in the process of certification in the McKenzie method of mechanical diagnosis and therapy for spinal pain and related arm, head or leg pain.

POST-OPERATIVE REHABILITATION - physical therapy is routinely used to recover functional strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, endurance and work or sport conditioning after many different types of surgeries. Therapists are trained to rehabilitate individuals after any type of surgical procedure that ultimately impairs their ability to function physically at the most independent level. 

PUBLIC SPEAKING BY OUR PROFESSIONAL STAFF - our therapists and trainers are happy to speak to your school, community organization or workplace on a myriad of topics such as wellness, injury prevention, cumulative trauma disorders, ergonomics, transitional work, etc. 

SPINAL MOBILIZATION AND MANIPULATION - Advanced Health has several therapists specially trained and certified through the McKenzie Institute and the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy to perform these very effective techniques for treatment of mechanical spinal disorders.  In fact, as of January 2004, we are the first and only center offering "CertifiedOrthopedic Manipulative Therapy" (COMT).

VESTIBULAR/VERTIGO (DIZZINESS) REHABILITATION - patients suffering from certain types of dizziness which may be related to head movements and cause trouble walking and reading, can often be treated by specially trained therapists. Neck injuries, vestibular (inner ear) problems, and head injuries are some of the causes for various types of dizziness.
